Recently Google has warned us that it is possible for spammers to take advantage of our websites or blogs without ever setting a virtual foot in our web servers. Spammers can do this by abusing open redirects.
What Are Open Redirects
It’s a common practice that websites use links to redirect visitors to another page. Some redirects are left open to any arbitrary destination. These redirects are called open redirects and can be abused by spammers to trick your readers and search engines into following links that seems to be pointing to your website although they redirect to a spammy website.

As usual, I always go to Google to search for what I want. But just a few minutes ago, all the search results in Google are marked as ‘This site may harm your computer’ no matter what keywords or phrases you are searching.

I dont’ know what happen to the Google. But I guess it may due to the web spam filtering is stopped working in Google. Or perhaps some virus or malware attack Google? When I click on the link ‘This site may harm your computer’, it returned me an error page. Seems like Google is having some serious trouble now!
What do you think? Please share with us your opinion in the comment box.
Update 1: Google has just fixed the issue. Everything back to normal now. That’s a good news for us.
Update 2: This issue also caused Gmail to put email into spam folder instead of inbox folder.
Update 3: Google has released a blog post explaining about the cause of this issue. It was simply human error. When Google updated malicious URL list, the people accidentally updated all of the URL to have malicious software installed. Luckily they have noticed the issue and fixed it very quickly.

As we all know, FeedBurner has been recently moving all of its feeds over to Google server. And we are forced to create a Google account and migrate our feeeds by manually following on-screen instructions and clicking of the next button.
I myself have upgraded the account to Google successfully without any issue. But I still feel disappointed about Google and FeedBurner because they are destroying the brand and image built in years. Why I’m saying that? I didn’t expect the new system is so buggy as many bloggers complaint about losing 100’s or 1000’s or even all of the subscribers overnight after migration.

For more information about migration your FeedBurner to Google account, please refer to my previous article.
There are a few things that are questioning my mind.
