Yes, you can follow this tutorial to add copyright and disclaimer link. This tutorial will not remove Thesis link.

I really want to add the copyright in the footer along with a link to my disclaimers page.
However, I don’t want to remove the Thesis link – I don’t have a developer’s edition. Is the correct action to use?

Actually you no need to modify footer.php. You can combine both line and put them inside custom_functions.php. Let me know if you need further help.

Hello Everyone,

I am using version 1.7 of this theme and relatively new to this theme.

I had to muck around with footer.php to get rid of the atrribution completely.

Following the directions in this tutorial, even when it seemed to work –
used to give me 2 lines, one with the attribution and another one right below it with the one from custom_functions.php.

The full path to footer,php is : wp-content/themes/thesis_17/lib/html/footer.php

This should just really be a check box in the theme options.
