Link Popularity

Link popularity is a critical factor in driving traffic to a website. Unfortunately, many website owners do not realized that low link popularity often make it very hard for them to attract new natural visitors from search engines.

What Is Link Popularity?

Link popularity is the number of web pages that link to a website.

How To Check Your Website Link Popularity?

There are many free online tools that can help you to analyze your website link popularity. One of the tools I am using is Submit Express Link Popularity Check Tool.

Search engines do not trust new and unpopular websites although rarely stated in plain English. For every single term you enter in search engines, they are trying to evaluate millions of web pages in order to show you the result. Since search engines do not trust unpopular websites, you should take note of the following for not being penalized.

#1: Do Not Manual Submission To Search Engines

If you are still using manual submission to index your websites in search engines, it might take you weeks to see the result. Search engine robots jump from page to page on the web via hyperlinks in order to find new page to index. The reason is simple. If search engines find a link on other websites pointing to your website, it means your website is popular from search eninge perspective.

In order for search engines to index your new websites, simply add a link on other popular websites pointing back to your website. The whole process will take days.

#2: Websites Can Be Delisted From Search Engines

Your websites can be delisted from search engines if you do not earn enough link popularity. One of the possible reasons is that the contents of your page or the links pointing to your page changed significantly and you no longer have a sufficient PageRank.

#3: Search Engines Like Higher Link Popularity Websites

Search engines rely on the link popularity to rank websites in the search engine results. From search engine point of view, a link from site A to site B can be interpreted as a vote given by site A to site B. The more votes your site has, the higher search engine rankings will be given.

How Many Links Is Enough?

Once we realize the importance oof link popularity, the first question we often ask is how many links is enough. It depends.

All websites need a basic amount of links to maintain its search engine rankings. If your niche is very competitive, then you need more incoming links to maintain your rankings. If your industry is less competitive, then you need less links to have high search engine rankings.

Conclusion

Incresing link popularity is one of the effective ways to keep your site in the SEO game. You should have proper link building strategy as part of your SEO process. Wrongly strategy or tatic will make you spending great efforts but getting less rsults.

I agree. Link popularity is vastly important as many search engines see inbound links as “votes” for your site. The more votes you have, the more likely your site is to be trusted and ranked highly.

Yup the number of links depends blog to blog. I was lucky, only 1000 links did the miracle for me. I got PR 2 due to those links.

@ahohel@halimdanga,
There are rooms to improve your on-page and off-page optimization for your website. Here are 2 tips you can consider to implement.
1. Optimize keyword in your web page by mentioning the keywords a few times in the same page.
2. Build more backlinks pointing to your website as this will increase your website ranking in search engines.

Hi , yes i agree with the backlink thingy.
It is important to get quality links back , but getting these links is not that easy.I think you need to push it again and again (leave good comments, post good content etc.)

Thx for sharing this.

@WebBanshee,
I agree with you. Quality back links are hard to get. Another approach is we write high quality post which can attract other people links to us.
