Article marketing is a type of marketing where individuals or businesses write short articles related to their niche or respective industry. These articles are submitted and make available for distribution and publication in the marketplace.
Below are 3 different article marketing strategies.
Targeting High Search Engine Rankings
One of the feasible strategy is about getting SEO right within articles themeselves. The idea is you choose keywords that you want to rank high in search engines. Usually those keywords are high traffic and low competition because they are easier to target. Then you start building and writing articles around keywords chosen and submitting them to article directories.
Normally we should choose popular and authority directories such as EzineArticles because they have strong internal links and tons of inbound links. Internal links and inbound links are critical for SEO as search engines are using them to calculate the ranking of your web pages. Since authority directories are optimized for search engines, your submitted articles should be able to rank quite well in search engine results and driving you lots of quality traffic by following the links in your article resource box.
This strategy is working well if you are targeting low competition and high traffic keywords. You might not be able to find such keywords in your niche. Don’t worry, you still can apply this strategy by choosing secondary or long-tail keywords that are less competitive compared to main keywords in the industry. One thing to remember is you need additional strategies in order for your articles to generate tons of quality traffic.
Distributing Article
Some of you might not be able to find low competition and high traffic keywordds in your niche. Even you apply the first strategy, you might not get reasonable results. There is another way you can solve this issue, mass article distribution. This strategy is to distribute your articles to as many places as possible and build thousands of backlinks in the process.
In the SEO process, I always recommend people to look for quality source with high PageRank to build the backlink since a single high PageRank link woth more than tens of links on non-relevant sites if not hundreds. We are going to break this rule when applying this strategy. Quantity is what we are targeting instead of quality. With thousands of backlinks in the resource box pointing back to your websites, it is going to push your search engine rankings high enough to get you lots of traffic by following those backlinks.
It is impossible to have thousands of backlinks just by doing it manually. There is such automated software which can do the job for you and save you valuable time. Usually this strategy will create duplicate content issue because there are thousands of your article available in different article directories. Some of the automated software are able to solve duplicate content issue by re-generating your original article and produce hundreds of unique copies using algorithm. Republishing Of Article
The main article marketing feature is your articles in the directories are freely available for reprinting and republishing on other websites. By right this should be a good feature as it will generate more backlinks for your original website. Theoretically this strategy will increase your website rankings.
The free distribution of articles has, however, led to a large amount of duplicated content appearing on websites across the Internet. This cannot be prevented so I suggest you do not directly use your blog post for directory submission. Even if you want to use your blog post, at least re-write it and make it looks differently before submission.
Conclusion
Definitely article marketing is a good technique to drive tons of quality traffic to your websites by implementing approriate strategies. Just need to make sure you do not use original blog post or content on your website in the submission process because it will hurt your original blog post and websites.

Hey thanks for your tips. I was looking at using a link building service to submit articles linking keywords for my website. I own a an exact match keyword domain and was considering buying high PR links from some of these company’s apparently they are from relevant sites. So whats your view on this? Article submit and and get thousands of links or buy a few high PR links?
