There is a third way. I used the “” code and made a custom designed counter. Used a nice image. You can see my counter on my blog just below the Header and above the RSS image. I hope you like it.

Creating custom designed counter in not my idea. I took the idea from some where but I made the custom counter myself.

Thanks for the counter! I have been looking for this for awhile. How does the counter update? I have more followers on Twitter than my counter displays. I am assuming that it is not real time updates? Is there a piece of code that needs to be inserted to make that happen?

@Jean,
Twittercounter will update your follower count daily. So you no need to update it manually. In case you want to do it manually, just go to http://twittercounter.com/beyluen, replace beyluen with your twitter name and click update.

@Bey,

I had the code for the manual version and that is why I wasn’t seeing the updated numbers. I am using the WP plugin now.

I thank you for pointing out the manual option because I did not know about that or see info about that on the page where you grab the code.

Have a great day!

Cheerz!

Thanks for the counter. I was new to twitter, and found this useful. Though I have 0 followers, I will display and see how it grows.

To bad that it does not show the followers in real time and even if I hit the update link it does not update..

Again, another great post on your blog. Once I get more followers, I will have to add this plug-in to my blog to show the number of followers. I already have my blog tweet my Twitter when I make a new post. I have found a good number of my visitors have came from Twitter using the Twitter search. So I am sure it will go wild. Even media and news are starting to use Twitter. It is well on it’s way of becoming a mega site! If you don’t use Twitter, you ought to sign up and hop on the bandwagon and not get left behind!

hi
thanks for the tips, i just wondering how to put a link on the twitter counter so that people will direct to twitter page rather than go to twitter counter page. is it posible?

regards

@shahrul,
It is not possible to do this with this twitter counter widget. If you want to do it, then you need to write some programming code to retrieve the follower count and display it as text.
